Privacy Policy
Effective Date: March 24, 2026
Welcome to Pawpack! Your privacy is incredibly important to us. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the Pawpack mobile application.
1. Information We Collect
- Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and basic profile information to establish your identity.
- Pet & Pack Data: We collect the information you input regarding your pets (names, breeds, activities, schedules) and the "Pack" groups you create or join.
- Device & Usage Data: We automatically collect standard diagnostic data, device identifiers, and usage metrics to help us fix bugs and improve the app.
2. How We Share Information Within the App
Pawpack is designed for co-parenting. Any pet data, activity logs, or schedules you input will be visible to other users who have explicitly joined your specific "Pack." We do not share your Pack data publicly or with unauthorized users.
3. Third-Party Service Providers
To operate the app, we securely share limited data with industry-standard third-party services:
- Neon (Neon, Inc.): Our primary database provider and secure account authentication. Your account data, pet information, and "Pack" data are securely stored on Neon’s managed PostgreSQL infrastructure.
- Firebase (Google): Used for sending necessary push notifications to your device. Firebase does not host our primary application database.
- PostHog: Used for anonymous product analytics to help us understand which features are most useful and where the app might be confusing.
- RevenueCat: Used to manage premium subscriptions. RevenueCat verifies your purchase status but does not have access to your credit card information. All payment processing is handled securely by Apple or Google.
4. Data Deletion
You have the right to request the deletion of your account and associated data at any time. You can do this directly inside the Pawpack app by navigating to Settings > Delete Account. Upon deletion, your personal data is immediately removed from our active databases.
Upon account deletion, your personal identifiers (such as your email address and profile name) are permanently removed from our active databases. However, because Pawpack is a collaborative tool, any pet-related events, activity logs, or schedule entries you created within a "Pack" will be retained but anonymized. This ensures that other members of the Pack maintain a complete care history for the pet. These retained records will no longer be associated with your identity or account.
5. Supplemental Notice for European Users (GDPR)
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or the UK, the following applies:
- Legal Basis for Processing: We process your Account Information to fulfill our contract with you (to provide the Pawpack service). We process Device & Usage data based on our legitimate interest in maintaining app security and performance.
- International Transfers: Your data is processed on servers located in the United States. We ensure your data remains protected through Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) with Neon, Google, and our other service providers.
- Your Rights: In addition to deletion, you have the right to access your data, correct inaccuracies, or object to certain processing. You may also lodge a complaint with your local Data Protection Authority.
6. Supplemental Notice for California Residents (CCPA/CPRA)
This section applies to California residents under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended for 2026.
- Notice at Collection: In the past 12 months, we have collected: Identifiers (Email, IP address), Personal Information (Profile info, Pet names), and Internet Activity (Usage metrics).
- No Sale or Sharing: Pawpack does not sell your personal information. We do not "share" your information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
- Global Privacy Control (GPC): We honor GPC signals. If your browser or device sends a GPC signal, we will treat it as a valid request to opt-out. You will see an "Opt-Out Request Honored" confirmation in your app settings if such a signal is detected.
- Right to Know (Historical Access): You may request a report of the specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, including data collected back to January 1, 2022.
- Right to Correct: You have the right to request that we correct any inaccurate personal information we maintain about you.
